
During COP30, which takes place in Belém, Brazil, two great icons of Brazilian music—Ney Matogrosso and Lenine—are joining an initiative to benefit the Pantanal’s biome, the largest tropical floodplain in the world. Both artists will perform these benefit concerts at the historic Theatro da Paz.
Celebrating Brazilianness during COP30
Ney Matogrosso is well-known for bringing Brazil to life in his artistic work, since he had achieved worldwide recognition due to his performances since the 80s.
He will play beside the Brazilian pianist Leandro Braga, and they are going to present a very special concert named “Ney Matogrosso Voice & Piano,” on November 13th, starting at 9 p.m.
The artist has built a career marked by the aesthetic boldness, the defense of freedom, and the appreciation of the country’s cultural diversity. His presence at COP30 symbolizes how powerful art is as a universal language for raising awareness about environmental issues.

Lenine, who is a singer with a fantastic 39-year career, is famous for giving to the alternative rock an unique Brazilian touch.
His activism for environmental causes is a key aspect of his work indeed. The artist is recognized for his poetic style that combines popular music, socio-environmental awareness, and sonic experimentation together.
His concert is scheduled to November 21st at 9 pm at the Theatro da Paz, during the close ceremony of COP30 and its programation. The concert will be opened with Terena Indigenous artist Eric Terena, whose innovative fusion of electronic music with traditional chants has become a huge symbol of the resilience and vitality of Indigenous culture in contemporary Brazil.

Proceeds will benefit projects developed by SOS Pantanal
Ticket proceeds of the concerts will be donated to the SOS Pantanal Institute in order to continue all the projects developed in the biome. It’s important emphasize that the institute’s main areas of activity are:
- Governance and Water Security;
- Conservation and Restoration of the Biome;
- Prevention and Fighting of Forest Fires
This Institute has been working for more than 15 years to protect and to defend the biome, throughout engaging in dialogue with various sectors of the civil society and public authorities to conserve the Pantanal effectively.
